Our Regular Club Nights/Workshops...
We currently run regular evenings and afternoons for Beginners and graduated dancers for Mainstream, Plus and Advanced as
detailed below ...
Beginners
We invite new dancers to join us at our American Western Dance evenings.
These take place every Tuesday (with a few exceptions), from 7:30pm to 10pm at the Wavendon Community Centre
in the middle of Wavendon Village, East Milton Keynes, MK17 8LH, and include not only Square Dancing but also some Line
Dancing and Barn Dancing.
During these evenings we teach new dancers all they need to know as well as providing fun dancing for those that have been
dancing for a while.
New dancers are welcome on the SECOND Tuesday of any month.
More details and videos, etc. are available at the AWD-MK website.
Mainstream + Plus
We hold a Mainstream and Plus evening every Thursday night (with the odd exception)
at the new Community Hub in Wavendon Village, on Dankworth Way, Glebe Farm, SE Milton Keynes, MK17 8ZN.
The dancing starts at 7pm with an hour of MS, then alternates between Mainstream and Plus (teaching Plus to our regulars when
needed) with only Plus for the final 30 minutes. We do have a coffee/tea break, but otherwise the break between tips is
short ensuring dancers get as many tips as possible. Moves at both levels are workshopped as
necessary and all of the tips include multi-position dancing.
Advanced (& DBD Plus)
We hold an Advanced evening every Wednesday night (with the odd exception)
at the village hall in Little Brickhill, on Watling Street, MK17 9NB, just off the A5 2 miles south of MK.
The dancing starts at 7:30pm where we also teach the Advanced program to confident Plus dancers as needed.
Again, we only have short breaks to provide as much dancing as we can. Moves are workshopped as necessary
and all of the tips include multi-position dancing.
Advanced Improver Workshops
We hold an Advanced workshops on weekends. In the afternoon on the 2nd Sunday of each month (with some exceptions)
at the village hall in Kensworth (between Dunstable and M1 jnc 9), The Chilterns, LU6 3RJ.
The dancing starts at 1:30pm and finishes a just before 5pm each time.
The format varies depending upon who is attending, but will generally include both A1 and A2 tips, with similar time
given to each. The breaks are generally short to provide as much dancing as possible and all moves are workshopped as
necessary, working toward multi-position dancing.
NOTE: As these are weekend dates, other dances and events occasionally alter plans, so please contact us before joining us
so that we can confirm the sessions are happening on the day you expect.
